Bandipora students to highlight unemployment

Mir TariqBandipora, June 19: The Bandipora Students Federation (BSF) has decided to start a campaign to highlight the burning problem of unemployment in the district.
The two-day conference of the federation, which concluded here on Thursday, urged the government to undertake work on the Wular Barrage Project, set up industries based on fruit and agriculture and take other projects to generate employment opportunities on the district. It also decided to hold a state-level rally in coming months at Srinagar to divert the attention of the government towards the grave issue of unemployment."Government is totally ignoring the unemployed youth of Bandipora,” said BSF president Abdul Samad Najar, adding, “We will submit a memorandum to Chief Minster Ghulam Nabi Azad seeking his help in providing jobs to unemployed youth in the state”.The student organisation also demanded the extension of the railway track from Baramulla to Bandipora, development of unexplored tourist destinations like Athwatoo, Chiternar, Tragbal and Bhutoo. It demanded that central government should enlist the Bandipora in the National tourist map to absorb the tourism graduates.BSF Secretary Malik Nazir said "The youth of Bandipora have been deprived of every facility. Government is providing crores of rupees for the benefit of the uneducated youth, but unfortunately these funds are mis-utilised by the corrupt officials”.He said that the students organisation will highlight unemployment in the state especially in the district and seek jobs for the unemployed youth.
