Mir TariqBandipora: The sale of medicine for clearing throat has witnessed a spontaneous rise during the past seven days here in Bandipora. Pharmacists say there has been a spurt in demand of medicines used for the throat ailments and many of them have run out of stock.
Various pharmacists, who are being compelled by protestors to sell medicines for curing throat aliments, have made sales worth thousands.People who were raising slogans during the procession from last seven days have got throat ailments and are now using medicines like Strepsils, limcee, Roxymycin,etc."We are being compelled to sell medicines used for curing throat ailments" said pharmacist Majid, adding "I made sale of Rs 3000 in five days only on selling Roxmycin, which used to be not in demand during summer season ." "People have got throat ailments while raising slogans in the processions therefore they are in need of such medicines," added MajidSayed Mheran another pharmacist in Bandipora market said "I sold medicines like Strepsils, Roxmycin etc worth thousands during past few days as people who participated in processions used to suffer from soar throat."A protestor Muzamil while taking medicine said "I am taking medicine related to throat ailments worth Rs 500 for people who are participating in processions with me in my area.""We have to maintain our sound in order to raising audible slogans against our enemies," said Muzamil."From previous seven days the only medicines I have been selling is Roxmycin and Strepsils" said a pharmacist Abdul Majid, adding "even police men who are screaming while retaliating to protestors also take throat medicines.""We were not ready to do any business in these days and had downed the shutters in solidarity but people who are raising slogans compelled us to open" said Azad Ahmed.
