BSF trooper among 6 injured

At least six persons including a paramilitary BSF trooper sustained injuries when suspected militants hurled a grenade on a BSF bunker at Bandipore in north Kashmir Wednesday, police said.
A police spokesman said that militants hurled the grenade towards a BSF bunker near Gulshan Chowk, Bandipora. The explosive device exploded with a big bang injuring five pedestrians and a BSF trooper.
This was the first militant attack in the Kashmir valley in 2008, he added.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Subhash Choudhary impersonating as a police officer was nabbed by the locals Tuesday evening in Akhnoor area of Jammu region.
“The accused went to a petrol pump and after re-filling the fuel, he did not pay the bill and imposed as a police officer,” sources said adding that when he tried to escape, he was apprehended by the onlookers and later handed over to the police.
