Mir TariqBandipora: First Thang Ta Championship concluded today on Tuesday here in Boys Higher Secondary Bandipora.The championship started on Monday and concluded in Boys higher School Bandipora in which about 70 boys and girls students from various private and government Schools participated.
On the final day various bouts were played under the weight category of -25Kg-29Kg and -33 Kg. Among the gold medal winners are Shakir, Danish and Akeel of Gousia Public School Bandipora. The silver medal winners include one female student of Baba Institute. The three bronze medal winners include Aamir Majeed, Umer and Shahid of Shahi Hamden Public School. Principal Boys Higher Secondary distributed medals among the winners and appreciated the young players who showed good performances in the matches. The General Secretary Thang Ta Association Jammu and Kashmir and District president Thang Ta Association Bandipora Iftikhar Rashid Wani were also present on the occasion. While concluding the prize distribution ceremony Iftikhar Rashid thanked Jammu and Kashmir Thang Ta management and State Sports Council who initiated the Thang Ta championship in Bandipora
