Mir Tariq

Srinagar, Jan 30:
PDP today alleged that some renegades in Bandipora are spreading immoral activities and demanded stern action against them.
The PDP spokesman said that people in Bandipora led by party leaders took out a peaceful protest rally against what they called moral waywardness spread by some anti-social elements. These elements want to score political mileage by means of character assassination of some political leaders in Bandipora. The spokesman said that some cable operators with ‘doubtful credentials’ keeping aside the ethics of journalism have started a defamation campaign against PDP leaders. He said, “Over 3000 people assembled at Gulshan Chowk chanting slogans against the hooligans and the administration that has given a free hand to some anti social elements”.The PDP spokesman claimed that some renegades are spreading immoral activities in the area. “If immediate measures are not taken to stop them, the waywardness will engulf the whole area,” he said, adding, “The hooligans including renegades were given free hand to harass people including women and children”. “How can a civilized society tolerate this menace? The renegades are free to go berserk in Bandipora town its adjoining areas. How can we tolerate this non sense?”, the PDP spokesman questioned. He urged the government to prohibit the cable operators from propagating malicious campaigns. “These cable operators should be banned under defamation law and necessary action taken against the renegades,” he added.
