Chill kills trooper

Bandipora, Jan 27: Due to severe colds an army trooper died in Bandipora in the wee hours on Saturday.Yalapa Mistri son of Jothiba Mistri of Karnataka died in a camp stationed at Tragbal, located at an altitude of 8400 ft above the sea level and 26 km from the Bandipora district headquarters.
The Traghbal peak is considered a deadly one and has taken hundreds of lives. The peak remains covered with 12to 15 feet of snow from December to April.Anil Kumar the associate of the deceased told Rising Kashmir, “Yalapa was accompanying a trekking party. On their return he felt pain in his head and after few minutes fell down and lost his breath.” The trooper’s body has been kept in Police Station Bandipora for the medical report.
